The Korean Association of Islamic Studies (KAIS, President: Kim Suwan) held its Spring Conference on "From Security to Solidarity: Tolerance in Times of Othering', the Spring Academic Conference was held.
Prof. Recep Şentürk, the current Dean of the College of Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and President of Usul Academy (Chicago), was the keynote speaker along with Kim Ki-wan (Director of Tamra Cultural Institute, Jeju National University) and Recep Şentürk (Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar), Sulayman Elik (Embassy of Turkey in Korea), Yuki Shiozaki (Shizuoka University, Japan), Mikhail Yakubovich (University of Freiburg, Germany), Yuki Shiozaki (Shizuoka University, Japan), and other distinguished scholars from home and abroad participated in the conference and held high-level discussions on various topics related to the Islamic world.
The conference was particularly significant in that, although it was a domestic conference, scholars from all over the world participated in the conference, broadening the scope of the Korean academic community.
