2024 3rd KAIS Colloquium successfully concluded.

The Korean Association of Islamic Studies (KAIS, President: Prof. Suwan Kim) held the 3rd KAIS Colloquium on Thursday, 27 June 2024, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Room 101 of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. The Colloquium featured a lecture by Professor Hyunhee Park (John Jay College of the City University of New York & CUNY Graduate Center, Department of History) on "Discovering the Global Middle Ages: Encountering and Understanding the Islamic World and East Asian Societies in Premodern Interactions". In this lecture, Professor Park explored the interactions between the Islamic world and East Asian civilisations in the past, focusing on the world map. The colloquium was attended by many prominent Middle Eastern and South Korean historians and featured lively discussions.
